Muddy finds: The Art of Wine, Truro
A quickie just to give a nod and tip of the hat to the dapper Roland and Enora at their brand spanking new venture The Art of Wine in Nalder’s Court, Truro – we are totes excited about this one. Only open a week or so now, its already on the radar of the pre-theatre dinner crowd.
Not just a wine shop, not just a lounge bar and not just a gallery – it’s all three. Every bottle of wine, chunk of cheese and painting on the wall has been hand-picked – and shows their amazingly cool tastes.
This gorgeous pair from Mevagissey aim to support other small businesses locally and internationally and build up a network of like-minded people.
How cool are these? The WineEmotion dispensers give you a choice of 16 wines to try by the glass in serving of 25ml, 75 ml or 125 ml. This allows customers to try the wines before they buy a bottle, to make new wine discoveries or to have just a glass or their favourite wines at a very reasonable price. You just top up a credit card type thing at the counter with how ever much you want to spend, and from as little as 80p you can try new wines. Who knew Serbia had a wine industry? Not this wine-thicko.
Roland has Wine and Spirit Education Trust qualifications (a WSET to those in the know) so he knows his Shiraz from his Chardonnay.
Roland ran his own construction business in France and England for years, before deciding to follow his passion and work in the wine industry. And he’s done a rather splendid job on the reno:
Previously Enora work in Business Development, Recruitment and education before embarking with Roland on this new exciting chapter.
The official launch isn’t for a few weeks – keener than a mum on the front row of the christmas concert I’ll be camping outside in a sleeping bag the night before. Watch this space…
