Muddy has an Absolutely Fabulous night out!

2 Jul 2016

One of the best things about Cornwall is not the beaches – OK is IS the beaches – they are pretty breathtaking right? But the collaborations between local businesses is frickin awesome too.  Take Tracy King and Keira Latham-Byrne who brought Cornwall our first champagne and nail bar – not shy about joining forces with other Truro favourites like Plum Boutique – last night they brought No 3 lash and brow bar to the Absolutely Fabulous party Enora and Roland hosted at The Art of Wine in Nalder’s Court.

If you’ve not been to the Art of Wine yet – why the hell not? Muddy last visited back in February, not long after they launched. You don’t need to wait for one of their regular event nights – there’s always great food, a vast choice of wine and local art on display. There were plenty of smoochy couples and pre- theatre goers soaking up the great atmosphere on Friday, while we soaked up the great fizz (hic!).

art of wineEnora served Champagne on arrival, then some nibbles (cheese and bread – I could seriously live off cheese, wine and bread alone). Upstairs, while Jodie removed my chipped and scuffed varnish (still on from the Muddy awards, how embarrassing), I grilled Keira and Tracy about the concept behind No 3. They wanted to bring a bit of city chic to Truro: Champers alongside luxury manicures. With exclusive lock ins this is perfect for girly weekend take overs,  hen nights, baby showers – whatever – how absolutely fabulous is that? My London girlfriends are descending on me in a few weeks so this is now a must do.

After a brow make-over with their million dollar brow, we were seriously looking Eddie and Patsy already – just a few fun accessories required.

The we descended en-mass on the Plaza. Great comfy leather seats and – yess, MORE fizz – a bottle of Processeco with your ticket? yes please sweetie. Reassuringly, Eddie and Patsy did not disappoint. After seeing the trailer I was worried we might have seen the best gags, but the belly laughs did not stop. This was one cake with deep icing. I’m ashamed(?) to say I didn’t recognise many of the 20+ cameos, but did note Gwendoline Christie looking less warrior sans Game of Thrones armour, the delish John Hamm, Joan Collins and our own Cornish maid Dawn French. It really was a romp an minute.
