Summer hols are virtually upon us, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be reaching out for your hipflask before the end of the week. Put. the. bottle. down – trust me, it’ll be fine – my shiny new calendar will hold you hand and mop your brow through the next six weeks – think of it as your curated digital go-to valium guide.

Zestival, Falmouth Sat 23 – Wed 27 July

Falmouth’s first healthy living festival, there’s a whole range of different activities inviting the public to take part including Pilates, Zumba, tennis, climbing, cricket, hockey, circus skills or paddle boarding. Click on the program below and try out something new this weekend.

 

Neptunalia, Trebah Garden Mawnan Smith Tues 26 – Thur 28 July

This is a dance performance and a half – with a promenade around the garden, culminating on Trebah’s own beach.

One storm filled day when the clouds were the colour of a bad temper, something washed up on the beach that was neither fish nor bird nor boat…” As part of Cornwall’s festival of landscape and dance, SALT 2016, Cscape Dance Company will collaborate with Cornish dancer/choreographer Tom Jackson Greaves (Matthew Bourne/Kneehigh) and writer Anna Maria Murphy (Kneehigh/BBC Radio 4) to bring you Neptunalia at Trebah: a feast for the heart, soul and belly; culminating in celebrations and dancing on the beach.

Dinosaur Uprising, Eden Project Bodelva, until September

Possibly the biggest prehistoric invasion since jurrasic times yet! If your mudlet is dinocrazy, a visit to the Eden Project this summer is a must. The whole park is taken over by incredible creatures from land, sea and air. Get ready to uncover fascinating facts about land-roaming giants, monsters from the deep and ancient creatures of the skies. There will be some relaxed sessions for children with autism spectrum condition, sensory and communication needs or learning disabilities who may benefit from a more informal experience – check the website for details.

Skybar pop-up, Polperro Fr 22 – Sun 23 July

Did you make the balearic event in Truro earlier in the month? Well you have a second chance  – Skybar are bringing their beach bar beats and Ibiza vibe to polperro, in this two day pop-up.  Friday is sounds of the beach house – creating that balearic ambience, expect a mix of laid-back, feel good beats with classic tracks old and new all wrapped up into one evening of total summertime bliss that will have you dancing all night long. Saturday is Electro swing night with live accoustic #skysessions and banquets.

Pirates Quest, Newquay until September

5 Kids love the chance to dress up and join their Pirate Captain for a tour at Pirate’s Quest, Newquay, CornwallPirates Quest is back! Yo ho ho me hearties. Me and the mudlets reviewed the new story at half term (here) and believe me – its swashbuckling fun.

Use your treasure map to find the clues to lead you to the Captain’s secret stash of chocolate. Suitable for all ages, the scare-factor will be tailored to your group.

Massage in the Med, Eden Project Mon – Sat until September

Knottier than a spaghetti western? While they run riot in the making shed, treat yourself to 15 minutes of me time in the Mediterranean Biome. No need to get naked either – treatments are carried out over clothing to combinations of back neck shoulders arms and hands and head and face. Bliss.
