Muddy finds: Pintxo Fowey

I’m a massive fan of Fowey – its a super chilled little seaside town on the south coast. But, if I’m honest, there’s not a great deal to gratify die hard foodies. That little fact changed last month when Pintxo opened its doors. The owners are huge fans of San Sebastian in Spain’s Basque Country, with its picturesque bayfront promenade and world-renowned restaurants. And wow! They’ve brought a bit of Basque to Fowey, with their Esplanade front tapas bar.

Muddy eats: Prawn on the Lawn, Padstow

Prawn on the Lawn was recommended by a girlfriend, and I’m literally jubilant to have made its acquaintance. Nestled down Duke Street in Padstow is the restaurant cum fishmonger with a great London vibe going on.

The first Prawn on the Lawn seafood bar opened in Islington a few years back but last spring, owners Katie and Rick decided to move to Cornwall. Lucky us, they’ve set up a second restaurant, Prawn On the Lawn Padstow!

A quickie just to give a nod and tip of the hat to the dapper Roland and Enora at their brand spanking new venture The Art of Wine in Nalder’s Court, Truro – we are totes excited about this one. Only open a week or so now, its already on the radar of the pre-theatre dinner crowd.

Not just a wine shop, not just a lounge bar and not just a gallery – it’s all three.
