Muddy tries: six weeks of beach bootcamp

15 Aug 2016

So with the Olympics looming, I made myself a promise that this summer (just as soon as I stop mainlining Sauv) I’d swap my flip flops for trainers, waddle out there and finally get back in shape. I’d become semi-sedentary, I’m ashamed to say, even here in Cornwall. Being a journo is not a particularly physical, and coupled with those restaurant reviews I selflessly bring you, I was definitely not feeling beach bootylicious.

Imagine my joy when I came across the answer to my blancmange botty on East Looe beach.

Adventure in the post – and just in time for Father’s Day

18 May 2016

Forget the socks, chocs and mugs this Father’s Day – hows about giving pops something a bit wild? Nope you naughty lot, I don’t mean taking him to a salubrious club – I mean inspiring a bit of adventure. We certainly have the scenery for it here.

I heard about these chaps at the Cornwall Home Show at the weekend – they weren’t there, but there were plenty of supporters blowing their trumpet. Muddy finds: Lost your park? I found my perk with Ivy Park

14 Apr 2016

Seeing Beyonce’s hot-of-the-press promo for her new fitness range has me feel a bit twitchy – don’t laugh, but I’m trying out the local karate class. I was a bit of a ninja a few years back and my fitness hasn’t been the same since I gave up, so thought I’d give it a go. And of course, I couldn’t contemplate a new sport without new gear.

Her new  range is called Ivy Park and is designed to “empower women through sport”  (Beys words) and was inspired by the local park she exercises/thinks/finds solace in.

Huzzah for the end of term! No more uniforms to iron and sports kits to disinfect. For 3 weeks atleast.

To see you through the wilderness of the Easter hols, the what’s on guides will be pumped up on chocolately goodness. Rather than give you one mind blowing guide, it’ll be usual weekly format, but there’ll be a split of activities to tire out the kids and adults so you should be able to find something you enjoy.
