Muddy Must-See: Charge
Motionhouse's electrifying, new dance-circus show Charge is coming to Hall For Cornwall. Take the kids and be amazed!
This post is just a quick heads up on a show I think you should know about, coming to Hall For Cornwall on Fri 2 and Sat 3 Mar.
Prepare for some serious wow moments, as celebrated dance-circus company Motionhouse brings its incredible new multimedia show Charge to Truro.
Inspired by the electrical charge that sparks human life, from the beating of our hearts to the memories we make, six performers use dance and acrobatics to delve deep into human body, tracing the incredible story of energy in our lives. Four years in the making, Charge is a unique and exciting collaboration that draws together art and science.
Motionhouse worked with Professor Frances Ashcroft and her team from the University of Oxford to get some exciting science into the show.
Using the company’s signature combination of dance-circus, digital imagery and extraordinary set design, this fusion of film and live performance explores cell division, energy storage, organic composition and weather patterns in a powerful narrative.
Charge is created and directed by Motionhouse’s Artistic Director, Kevin Finnan MBE who was the Choreographer and Movement Director of the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. You saw that right? Here’s a reminder.
Seeing Charge will be sure to get your small folk buzzing about science – or possibly, and perhaps more alarmingly, acrobatics. Maybe don’t try this at home!
