Secret bars, beer confessionals and stocking fillers

Actung beer fans! If you’re heading down to Padstow Christmas Festival this weekend, skip breakfast and keep your eyes peeled for Sharp’s ‘Secret Bar’, somewhere tucked away from the crowds… Now I’m not allowed to say too much, but rest assured, its for us champers guzzling muddies as much as beardy hipsters – there’s absolutely no requirement for you to be hairy to enjoy this experience, though I did leave my mum drooling at Nathan Outlaw in the chef’s theatre instead. Expect theatrics, a unique Cornish beer and food pairing experience and I’m happy to snitch, Sharps have teamed up with another Muddy awards nominee and are showcasing a new product that WILL appeal (psst its in the pic below!).

In the main exhibition tent, see if you can spot their cheeky ‘Beer Confessional’*  set up for those in the festive spirit willing to confess their beer sins.

(*hint, its the sterling-board box in the middle, guarded by two hefty beer monsters)

Could be because I’m larger this year (boo), but though it was rammed today, the Christmas market seemed smaller than I remember. Did manage to buy some lovely gifts (not all for myself too) – Muddy MC was chuffed with his honey and clover Cornish Gouda. Making a point of seeing: George @PhilleighWay demos in the big tent, Gemma @atlanticblankets, the actual Jago from @Jago, Lorraine from Spotty Dog Cider and Lewis @Wild Bake.
