Cottages and camping at an idyllic family farm in rural Cornwall. Upstream from Fowey and Lostwithiel, Botelet offers a total escape from modern life.
Nestled in rolling hills, Botelet is special slice of rural Cornwall that has been farmed by the Tamblyn family for 150 years. Well off the tourist trail (but close enough to explore the best of Cornwall) there is a range of unique accommodation on offer at this centuries-old farm.
For an authentic wild camping experience, the meadow has three rotating pitches for six people max, while a beautifully decked out yurt sits in a secluded, wild-flower orchard, overlooking the valley and the sea beyond.
Two exceptional holiday cottages are also available, housed in original, period farm buildings. These have been sensitively preserved with stylish, rustic chic interiors and roaring log fires. Choose from grade II listed Manor Cottage – the remains of the original farm house – which sleeps up to 5, plus a cot for small guests. Or there’s the even more secluded Cowslip Cottage, another three-bed, set among the fields and gardens, with far-reaching valley views.
All accommodation is self-catering, but every Monday through the season, Botelet will be laying on a sumptuous spread for their new Breakfast Club. Open to guests and visitors, breakfast features organic ingredients from the garden and hedgerows and other local, seasonal goodies.
And finally, to put the icing on your relaxing retreat, therapeutic massage is available on site, courtesy of co-owner Tia, who also runs Introduction to Massage courses here. Further residential courses are planned later in the year.
