Gotta Have It
Advance warning: the grimmest day of the year is approaching. Make Blue Monday blue in a pleasingly different way this year (not like that, you pervs!)
Back in my clubbing days, Blue Monday was an absolute banger by New Order. Now the phrase has taken on a far less fun meaning – it’s the third Monday in January when everyone reaches peak skintness, miserableness, boredom and sunlight-starvation, post-Christmas. Yuck.
But instead of wallowing this year how about embracing the blues? In particular Classic Blue, the Pantone Color Institute’s colour of the year for 2020, a shade that is apparently calming and cheering. We have sniffed out five fittingly coloured Muddy treats, *Jason Donovan voice* especially for youuu. Then you just need to whack Madonna’s True Blue on the SONOS (speaking of bangers) and you can’t fail to have a good one.
Keep your water as blue as this Chilly's neon blue water bottle from Roos Beach which keeps the contents cold for up to 24 hours. Everyone in my yoga class has one.
Wear this beautiful understated cornflower blue chalcedony necklace from Jo & Co and invite calm, balance & positive change.
Wear the blues
This performance top from Finisterre, made from recycled fabric, makes a perfect base or mid layer to bring a blast of Cornish fresh air to your active wardrobe.
There's no problem in the world a nice cup of tea can't solve (sorry, the self-help industry). We love these glazed clay mugs designed and made in Cornwall by the world-famous Leach Pottery, exclusively for Seasalt.
OK, admittedly this isn't a little treat and may not help on the January bank account blues front. But, my, isn't she pretty? This Fairfax & Favor beauty from Henry’s of Falmouth is a Muddy favourite, and firmly on my wishlist come payday.
