Property flirt! Sea view 3 bed cottage in New Polzeath
New year, new house! If you're after a fresh start in 2022, then this sea view north Cornish surf village 3-bedder could be right up your street - but can you guess the price?
If you’re dreaming of a new place to hang your hat, or, indeed your surf board, (and aren’t we all – looking that is – did you know property searches double in the week between Christmas and New Year?), then may we present this fab cottage practically on the beach in one of north Cornwall’s loveliest surf locations.
You’ll find Veronica Cottage in the charming surf village of New Polzeath, just round the corner from Polzeath itself on the other headland of the same wide sandy beach that is one of Muddy Cornwall’s favourite surfing spots.
The three-bed cottage is packed full of characterful quirks, including the impressive 21 foot sitting room on the first floor to make the most of the views of the surrounding Cornish hills – plus there’s a balcony for summer sundowners (New Polzeath sunsets are legendary).
Also upstairs you’ll find the adjoining kitchen and dining area, arguably looking a little dated so there’s plenty of scope to put your own stamp on the place. Full of natural light with its triple aspect and skylight, the part-vaulted ceiling with exposed timber beams gives the room an open, spacious feel and with a bit of a loving update, has all the right bones for a chic stylish living space.
Downstairs, you’ll find the three bedrooms, and there’ll be no road noise keeping you up all hours here, either. You may be on a road but there will be no passing traffic and it will be the waves crashing against the cliff below that lull you to sleep.
One of the bedrooms even has its own dressing room, as well as an en suite shower room. Also on the ground floor you’ll find a utility room right next to the back door, as well as a family bathroom – we reckon adding an outside shower and board & boot rack would make this place just perfect.
After all, there’s the beach out front and, if you head the other way, you’re straight out onto the South West Coast Path where you can walk the Rumps, or up to Port Isaac, or head the other way, past Polzeath and round to Daymer and Rock, where you can get the ferry to Padstow.
If you’re not familiar with New Polzeath, then you’ll want to brush up pronto – it has long been popular with writers, artists, actors and politicians for its seaside charm, year round surfing and relaxed vibe.
With a location this good and being available for occupation right away, Veronica Cottage is a surefire hit for 2022’s property market – but how much do you think it costs? Leave your guesses in the comments below and then head to the Strutt & Parker website to see if you were right!
