No 3. The Old School House, Cawsand

Perched on the waterfront overlooking Cawsand Bay, No.3 The Old School House reinvents luxury. Newly renovated with superb sea views this historic property has beach access and sleeps six.

Weekend Escapes

Edward and Nina fell in love with the views at No.3 The Old School House, formerly part of a 17th century ‘pilchard palace’ on the water’s edge in Cawsand, on the Rame Peninsular in East Cornwall, which they have lovingly restored and curated into a perfect luxury beachside bolthole.

A boutique luxury historic beach house spread over four floors, The Old School House sleeps six across three stunning double bedrooms. If you can tear yourself away from the sea views over Cawsand Bay and Plymouth Sound, there is direct access to the beach below from the property (kayak, paddles and life jackets all included).

Fully equipped for all your needs, this is a perfect waterside bolthole. And for those that like to write (or alas work) on their holidays, not only is high speed broadband & wifi included, there is also a dedicated desk. And, a window seat from which there is a great view of the MewStone – an island made famous by a painting by Turner of the same name.

Cawsand, and neighbouring village, Kingsand, are both on The Rame Peninsula- one of Cornwall’s least well-known yet enormously beautiful areas. Sitting within the conservation area and an Area Of Outstanding Beauty within the Mount Edgecumbe country park, walk the SW coast path from the front door, and find quiet beaches and leafy woodlands. Yet the quaint bustling village is within easy reach of Plymouth by car, or, by ferry.
