The Bowgie Inn, Crantock
Situated in a breathtaking location on West Pentire Headland, near Newquay, sandwiched between the unspoiled beaches of Crantock and Porth "Polly" Joke, The Bowgie Inn has far reaching sea views.
The Bowgie (Cornish for cowshed) has an awe-inspiring view from both the inside tables and the beer garden, matched by a new stylish interior after a recent refurb.
You’ll find The Bowgie on the West Pentire Headland just south of Newquay, further along from the beachside village of Crantock.
Pretty much on the South West Coast Path, after a circular walk of the headland, passing both Crantock and Polly Joke beaches, having watched seabirds, spotted seals and wandered through poppy and rape seeded fields, head to The Bowgie where you can sit outside on a sunny day and enjoy the incredible views over Crantock beach, or curl up inside for a front-row seat of the waves.
The Bowgie offers a traditional, hearty English menu, incorporating Cornish produce whenever possible – they’re famous for their home-made quiches. New Covid one way systems are in place and all tables must be pre-booked and rather niftily, all food orders are made using their online app using their free wifi. No more heading up to the bar to place your order – everything just appears at the serving table next to you.
