Zach’s Ice Lolly Bar
The season of daily ice creams is here! Zach’s Ice Lollies offer a genuinely healthy alternative, in a rainbow of nutritious flavours. Made from cold-pressed fruit and veg juices with sneaky superfood extras.
Most mums work hard to sneak veggies and healthy foods into their children’s diets but Bude-based Zaimar Williams went a step further. Her son Zachary was mad for ice creams and lollies and she set out to make his favourite frozen treats from pure fruit and veg.
Zaimar threw out the refined sugar, soya, dairy, lactose, additives and artificial colours in many lolly recipes, focussing on the most nutritious ingredients. Zach’s Ice Lollies combine cold pressed fruit and vegetable juices (which preserve the vitamins and minerals), with added extras like spirulina and chia seeds.
Clever fruit and veg combos create the amazing rainbow colours, as well as enhancing the nutritional profiles of the lollies. Think strawberry with beetroot, satsuma and carrot and zesty lemon and lime with spinach. Blue spirulina colours the banana and coconut flavour and just a couple are slightly more indulgent. One of these is the Cream Tea lolly, made with clotted cream, scones, strawberry juice and tea. A unique and very Cornish experience!
You can try these natural and delicious lollies (sold free of any packaging) at Rosie’s Kitchen and The Point at Hartland and on Fridays at The Bude Farmer’s Market, Saturdays at The Bude Artisan Market and Sundays at The Bude Sea Pool. Zach’s Ice Lolly Bar is also available to hire for children’s birthdays, weddings and events and free delivery (10 lollies or more) is offered in Bude and Stratton.
