The Muddy Awards 2017 – Coming Soon!

It's time for you to get behind your fave local businesses (in 27 categories you know!)

Roll that drum and put the champers on ice, because The Muddy Awards 2017 are rolling into town.

We want to shout from the rooftops about Cornwall’s indie businesses in all their quirky, unmissable, glorious erm, glory – from food producers to destination pubs, fabulous theatres to fashion boutiques.  Ever been bowled over by a small business that you think deserves recognition for being brilliant?  Well, now’s your chance to do your bit.

Last year, we held our first Muddy Awards in Cornwall but they’ve been going for five years in Bucks and Oxon and this year they’re running simultaneously across 18 (yes 18!) counties including, of course, yours truly. Previous winners include Best Family attraction, Trebah Gardens, Best Day Spa, The Linen Rooms and Best Hair Salon, Craig Chapman Hair Design.

The Pandora Inn was last year’s Destination Pub winner

ROUND 1 – NOMINATE YOUR FAVOURITES

Anyone can nominate a business and entry is gratis, nada, free as a bean.

Nominations open at Muddy Cornwall from midday, Weds 3 May and are open until Fri 26 May 2017.

If you’re a business who’d like to get involved, ask your customers and friends to nominate you and you’re away.

All the nominations are then counted up to produce a ‘top five’ in each category.

ROUND 2 – VOTE FOR THE WINNERS

Round 2 runs from Weds 7 – 14 June. At this point, we invite all readers to go onto a refreshed voting page and cast their votes for their favourite business in each category.

Many of the 27 Muddy Awards 2017 categories are niche, deliberately included to help the small indie businesses that don’t get a look in during bigger, more traditional awards, so *please-please-beg-weep-please* take time to scroll through them and vote in as many categories as you can. It could make all the difference to a brilliant local business.

Truro’s The Art of Wine were winners last year

THEN WHAT?

Winners will be announced on Weds 14 June (eek! I’m excited already).  They will receive a unique Muddy Stilettos certificate, Awards window rosette and trophy (an optional extra), as well as lots of Muddy help gaining coverage in regional and social media. And if that wasn’t enough, an exclusive Awards Drinks for winners will be held, details of which will be announced soon.  Please see below for the full list of categories.

Hi Kate, Thanks for getting in touch. I’ve heard some really lovely things about Jayne in the past days but unfortunately we don’t have a property section this year. Very well done to Jayne though, as this hasn’t stopped her customers and friends spreading the word about her great business. So sorry x
