A Perfect World, Miracle Theatre, Venues across Cornwall, until 24 Aug

A Perfect World tells the story of a feisty young woman who ventures into a Boy’s Own world of undiscovered jungles, treasure maps, campfires and penknives on an action-packed adventure. Leading her team of quarrelsome explorers she stumbles into a bountiful paradise, whose inhabitants seem entirely peaceful, productive and fulfilled. Is this tranquil place the best of all possible worlds? Or is it all too good to be true?


HabourQ, Charlestown Harbour, Fri 5 July – beginning of Oct

Charlestown’s newest foodie hot-spot opens on Friday 5th July – serving up the best local produce cooked over fire, with an unrivalled setting on the historic Georgian harbour. The Smokin’ Harbour BBQ, HarbourQ, is the latest development from the team behind the popular steak and seafood restaurant, The Longstore. Chef Ben Ambridge’s menu offers melt-in-your-mouth BBQ flavours, including slow-cooked meat, fish and veggie specials – all served with pickles, homemade sauces, potato salad and flatbreads – freshly cooked in a new purpose-built smoker and grill. A communal outdoor seating area has been purpose built on the harbour, with an undercover canopy to protect guests from summer showers.




Earth Story, Eden Project, Bodelva, Weds 24 July – 3 Sept

This summer at Eden, get ready to discover the evolution of life as we know it. Giant beasts, incredible stories, mind-blowing virtual reality, hands-on activities and interactive exhibits will take you on a journey through Earth’s astonishing past, precarious present day – and a future that’s ours to make.




Magic in the Skies, Land’s End Landmark, every Tues and Thurs from 25 Jul – 31 Aug

Enjoy a thrilling cocktail of pyrotechnic wizardry that lasts all summer long, with vibrant explosions lighting up Land’s End every Tues and Thurs evening at dusk. Each of the twelve firework displays will transport you on a musical journey.



Story By The Sea – Restaurant Residency, Carbis Bay Estate, 2 Aug – 14 Sept

The entire team of Michelin-starred Restaurant Story will be moving to Carbis Bay for six weeks this summer, where they will launch an exclusive residency in a bid to help clean up the ocean. They will be launching a six-week residency in Carbis Bay titled Story by the Sea. Over the course of the pop-up they will work with creative ocean campaigners, Parley, to remove 50 metric tonnes of plastic from the oceans. Diners will enjoy a unique five or six-course menu inspired by the ocean, including the likes of Crab Tart, Lobster & Leek, and Lemon Sherbet. The five-course lunch menu is available for £95pp + service charge. The six-course dinner menu is available for £125pp + service charge.


Boardmasters Festival, Newquay, Wed 7 – Sun 11 Aug

Boardmasters Festival brings you the very best in music, surf and entertainment, all set to the backdrop of stunning Cornish coastline. Big names performing out west this year include Florence and the Machine, Wu-Tang Clan, Foals, Dizzie Rascal and Franz Ferdinand. 


Falmouth Week, Falmouth, Fri 9 – Sun 18 Aug

Falmouth Week is a major attraction for locals and visitors alike. With its origins in a local sailing regatta dating back at least far as 1837, the Week has evolved into not only a major sailing competition in the SW but also an opportunity for sailors and landlubbers to enjoy the many daytime and evening attractions in the town. Plus The Red Arrows, a pink wig parade and fireworks? I’m there!


Roots Culture Summer Market, Mount Pleasant Eco Park, Porthtowan, Sun 18 Aug 

Equal parts entrepreneurial incubator and community gathering space, it all culminates in a lively celebration of contemporary craft and design culture with delicious vegan and veggie produce. Featuring an array of makers, interactive elements, artisanal food and libations, great music and good time.


Cornwall Folk Festival, Wadebridge, Thurs 22 – Mon 26 Aug
The bank holiday weekend is all about folk music in Wadebridge, with four nights and three days of concerts, sessions, folk clubs, dancing, workshops, craft fairs and children’s events in the beautiful market town. This year’s line-up includes local and international stars including The Unthanks, Steve Knightley, Flats & Sharps and Midnight Skyracer.


Cornwall Pride, Newquay, 24 Aug

Now in its 12th year, Cornwall Pride is a celebration of diversity in Cornwall. This traditional Pride event includes a colourful and vibrant parade from Towan Beach, Rainbow Fest with an afternoon of live music at Newquay’s Killacourt and a ticketed evening ‘Moonbow’ party.


Sea Swim Festival, Polkerris Beach, Sat 24 Aug

The Swim Festival is a mass-participation open water sea swimming event and a great chance to challenge yourself in a particular distance. If you’re feeling fit and strong you could swim two or even all three distances! The event offers a choice of a 1km, 2km, or 3km distance.


SkyBar, Polzeath, Fri 16 – Sat 17 Aug & St Agnes, Sat 24 – Sun 25 Aug

SkyBar takes the best of the aprés ski vibe and turns up the heat to create the highlight of your summer.  Building on the amazing sell-out successes of recent years, it’s going big in 2019. With excellent music and plenty of drinks to compliment the awesome sunsets, in some beautiful South West locations.


Unicorn Derby, Jubilee Pool, Penzance, Sat 31 Aug 

The famous unicorn derby is back with inflatable races across the pool, unicorn fancy dress and entertainment. Win swimming passes, cafe vouchers and more. All inflatables can take part but only unicorns can win in life! What’s more, for the second year running Jubilee Pool is one of a handful of recycling points in south west for inflatables.



Ziggy Marley, Bands in the Sands, Perranporth, Thurs 25 July

Eight-time GRAMMY® award winning musician and reggae icon Ziggy Marley is coming to a beach near you. He released his seventh full-length solo studio album, Rebellion Rises in May. Fully written, recorded and produced by Marley, this passionate and indelible new collection of music encourages people to stand together in activism through love. 

Sister Nancy and Legal Shot Sound, Princess Pavilion, Falmouth, Fri 26 July

All hail the queen of Dancehall Sister Nancy! Arguably one of the most influential vocalists of a generation Sister Nancy and Legal Shot Sound System come to the Pavilion to get summer started. Pitchfork named her single ‘Bam Bam’ as The Best Dancehall Song of All Time, which comes as no surprise as it has been sampled, referenced and reworked by almost everyone from Kanye West to Lauryn Hill to Wiz Khalifa.


Leopallooza, The Wyldes, nr Bude, Fri 26 – Sun 28 July

Leopallooza Festival is a multi award-winning, grass roots music festival that celebrates the very best in new, up-and-coming and established bands, artists and DJs within our bespoke festival site which is nestled in a hidden, tree-filled Cornish valley, just a few miles from the sea. This year’s headliners are Friendly Fires, The Vaccines and Feeder.


Port Eliot Festival, St Germans, Fri 26 – Sun 28 July

A celebration of words, music, imagination, ideas, nature, food, fashion, flowers, laughter, exploration, fun and all that is good in the world! Port Eliot is a festival unlike any other. Whether you’re swimming in the estuary, picnicking under a 300 year old tree, rocking out at the Park Stage, canoeing on the river, catching an intimate gig in the church, watching a cooking demo in the Big Kitchen or dancing ‘til the wee hours in the Boogie Round – guests are invited to make themselves at home for the weekend.

Inflatable 5k, Stithians Show, Sat 27 Jul

The Inflatable 5k is heading to Cornwall for the first time. The UK’s best Inflatable Assault course has got even bigger, bouncier and more insane. They’ve have added crazy new obstacles to make the most fun and extreme inflatable obstacle event ever created.


Penzance Literary Festival, Penzance, Wed 3 – Sat 6 July

In a changing world, the theme chosen for this year’s Penzance Lit Fest – the tenth edition – is Borderlines. The 2019 programme includes an eclectic and fascinating collection of wonderful talks, events and workshops.

Food Jam, Enys House, Penryn, Sat 6 – Sun 7 July

Food Jam returns to Enys for the 5th annual celebration of local food and drink. Graze a trail of world foods in the lovely gardens of Enys House. With inspirational talks, activities, demos and live music until late.


Fire and Feast Night, Bedruthan Hotel, Newquay, Fri 12 July

Gather around long wooden trestle tables overlooking the spectacular Cornish coast, to indulge in a delicious three-course feast, served on sharing platters from our open kitchen. Then wrap up warm, grab one of our blankets and gather around the fire pit amongst the dunes. Relive dream-filled campfire nights by toasting marshmallows on the open flames.


The Vinehouse BBQ, Polgoon Vineyard, Fri 12 July

Polgoon will be holding the first of a series of Friday evening BBQ and drink events running all through the summer. The bar will be providing all of their products, including  wines, ciders and juices. Arrival is from 6pm and the food is available from 6:30pm, with the last orders at the bar at 9pm. Tickets include; a gourmet style burger, loaded fries and a variety of fresh salads. Vegan alternatives available.


IDA – 4 stunning sopranos in the park, Penlee Park Theatre, Penzance, Fri 12 July

These four stunning sopranos push the boundaries of classical crossover music, bringing you a collection of re-worked operatic arias, chart-topping hits and musical theatre favourites. Ida’s impressive versatility within these musical genres has seen them performing their mesmerising show across the continents.


Fisherman’s Friends, Port Isaac Charity Gig, Fri 12 July

Come along to a free open-air charity concert and give generously to local charities close to the band’s hearts. In return they’ll sing you some saucy, bawdy, rollicking songs of the sea in the place where their musical journey began all those moons ago. This event is weather-permitting and may be cancelled at short notice.


Feasting Fridays, The Cornish Barn, Penzance, Fri 12 July

This Summer we’ll be hosting a series of themed ‘Feasting Fridays’ in our brand new garden. From Tacos & Tequila to Lobster & Fizz, A Paella Party to the Cornish Barn Chicken Shop, expect hearty helpings, cocktails and Summer vibes aplenty. The perfect way to make the most of those balmy evenings while they last. Get your hands dirty with crab claws and shell-on prawns, served simply for a proper hearty Cornish feed with lots of fresh bread to mop up all those garlicky lemon juices


Amy May, Old Bakery Studios, Truro, Fri 12 July

Globe-trotting singer, songwriter and guitarist Amy May will make a long-awaited return to her homeland this Summer, performing at The Old Bakery Studios. Promoting the release of her widely anticipated third studio album, “Mystic”, Amy is set to embark on a 6 week European Tour. Performing with a live band, Amy will be featuring songs from the new album, described as a blend of acoustic pop/ rock with subtle influences of folk and country.


Tropical Pressure Festival, Mount Pleasant Eco Park, Porthtowan, Fri 12 – Sun 14 July 

A small, family friendly festival with a global theme, celebrating the rich music, dance and food of 3 Tropical continents, in the beautiful Cornish countryside. Enjoy an incredible line up of music, free workshops and amazing food.


Proms at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, Cremyll, Sat 13 July

Mount Edgcumbe Country Park’s 2019 Proms concert. With The South West Philharmonia & Chorus, conducted by Marcus Alleyne, plus special guest artists from across the UK it’s set to be a flag waving, sing along, feel good extravaganza you won’t want to miss. Maestro and musical director Marcus Alleyne heads up the 140 strong Orchestra and Choir who will be taking to our concert stage for an evening of musical treats.


Making Waves Tour 2019, Waterfront, Polzeath, Sat 13 July

With music curated by Rob Da Bank. This year’s Making Waves Tour (presented by Sharp’s Brewery’s Off Shore) comes to Cornwall’s north coast this weekend, featuring music from Don Letts, Brushy One String, beer and food and live street art.


The Belly & Swelly Sessions, Baby Bay, Polzeath, Sat 13 July

A serious, non-serious surfing event for charity. Get down for a fun day on the beach at Baby Bay!  All welcome for the inaugural Belly & Swelly Sessions. We have the Dick Pearce & Friends Bellyboard Competition, The Fancy Dress Swelly Sessions with Wavehunters, a pop up shop from Jam Industries, The Baby Bay Raffle by Ticket to Ride , Food by the Taco Boys, Beer from Harbour Brewing Company, Wine from Nice Drinks, Coffee from Harding & Scoot and more….


Rock to Padstow Swim,  Sun 14 July

Cross the Camel Estuary under your own steam – swimming one mile from Padstow to Rock! Take part for Marie Curie and you can expect fantastic support along the way – with a welcome pack to help you with your fundraising, regular emails, on-hand support from your dedicated local fundraising team, and plenty of cheering on the day. Everything you raise will help our Marie Curie Nurses care for more people living with a terminal illness and their families.


Heligan Summer Buzz, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Pentewan, 20 July – 1 Sept

Heligan’s Summer Buzz invites you to get your wings on and celebrate the busy bumblebee and the beautiful butterfly in a summer of wildflowers and outdoor adventure. A sensory summer overload awaits you at The Lost Gardens, pick up your Adventure Passport and journey through woods, wildflowers, gardens and farm to Heligan’s Pollination Station.


Apollo 50, Goonhilly Earth Station, Helston, Sat 20 Jul

Apollo 50 is an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing at the iconic Goonhilly satellite communications site based on Cornwall’s Lizard peninsula.. The one-off special event will celebrate this monumental anniversary of history with an educational and entertaining day of music, science, art, and culture.

Polzeath Beer Festival, The Point Polzeath, Polzeath, 2 – 3 Aug

The 7th annual Polzeath Beer and Music Festival at The Point, sponsored by St Austell Brewery. Expect two days of beer, lager, cider, fizz, gin, live music and family fun! This year the event will be raising funds for Cornwall Hospice Care.


PenGrillie BBQ Festival, Saint Mellion, Sun 4 Aug

The annual BBQ festival in the stunning grounds of Pentillie Castle, overlooking the Tamar River. A fire fuelled food fest with live music, chefs demos and a BBQ comp for pros and amateurs alike.
