The world’s first film festival celebrating women in extreme sports and adventure. Building on the growth of, last year’s sell-out film festival success and film tour around the French Alps, we are returning again this year to offer you an opportunity to become part of our empowering film community that proudly promotes equality in extreme sports and adventure.

Wellbeing Taster Evenings, Scarlet Hotel, Mawgan Porth, Weds 6 Mar

A mini-retreat evening where you can learn some Ayurveda inspired tips on how to introduce a daily self-care routine which encourages radiant health and wellbeing. After the workshop, you can allow your mind to switch off as you melt away tension in the Spa. Warm up in the outdoor barrel cedar wood sauna then take a dip in the reed filtered pool and connect with nature; or swim in the heated pool, enliven mind and body in the eucalyptus steam room and enjoy time out in the ocean view relaxation room.

An Audience with Arthur Smith, Old Bakery Studios, Truro, Weds 6 Mar

Join comedian, writer, broadcaster and all-round British institution Arthur Smith and bask in an evening of laughter and off the wall humour with one of the ‘alternative comedians’ who shook up the world of light entertainment in the nineteen eighties and nineties. Expect an evening of sublime playfulness, crammed with jokes, anecdotes, short stories, poems, songs (at least 1 from Leonard Cohen) and readings from his memoir ‘My Name Is Daphne Fairfax’ which has won praise from literary critics.

Wind in the Willows, The Acorn, Penzance, Thurs 7 Mar

Kenneth Grahame’s classic story brought to vivid, anarchic life on the stage! Look out for chaos as we re-create animals, battles lost and won and a considerable slice of comic fun! Directed by Andy Blake who directed last season’s The Riot and designed by Jackie Moule, The Wind in the Willows is a treat for all the family, a much-loved classic tale populated by all our old friends! Join Mole, Ratty, Toad and Albert the horse as they do battle with the Weasel gang! If you like your fun wild, furry and wet …. you’ll love Wind in the willows!

Andy Griffiths for World Book Day, The Edge of the World Bookshop, Penzance, Thurs 7 Mar

To celebrate World Book Day The Edge of the World Bookshop has children’s author Andy Griffiths visiting for an after-school signing. The Australian author wrote the hilarious Treehouse books, which has grown into an amazing series of eight books. The treehouse now has 104-storeys including a never-ending staircase, a burp bank, and even a mighty fortress. Bring your book tokens and get a signed book. You might even have some ideas for more storeys for the future.

As winter moves into spring, enjoy some warming classic Spanish tapas dishes. The menu features authentic recipes using local produce and a great selection to try, with tapas dishes will be served to your table. Autumn is all about cosy evenings in front of the fire, hearty food and warming drinks, and Lusty Glaze’s Woodburner Sessions capture the essence of this by adding beautiful live music to the mix. This week see rising star of the Southwest music scene, Sadie Horler. BBC introducing in Devon have been a huge support to Sadie and described her as “Phenomenal” and “One of the finest young female musicians we have discovered”.
