Plan Bee Art Exhibition, Eden Project, 26 Jan – 17 Mar 2019 (except 28-29 Jan)

Featuring work by Kurt Jackson, Wolfgang Buttress and Amy Shelton, this insightful exhibition of science and contemporary art presents new views on bees and other native pollinators: their vital role, their extraordinary lives, their plight and the story of our native dark honey bees (Apis mellifera mellifera) and the role they play. Plan Bee brings together a wide range of collaborators from many disciplines connected by their passion to save our pollinators. Free with Eden admission.

 

 

Origin x The Beautiful Feast – ‘The Ground Up – A Seasonal Feast’, Origins Coffee, The Warhouse, Penryn, Fri 1 Feb

A delicious seasonal feast hosted at Origin’s Penryn waterside location, The Warehouse. A collaboration with supremely talented Cornwall based caterers, Beautiful and the Feast. ‘The Ground Up’ showcases a delicious feast, celebrating the best of Cornish produce, transformed into unique and honest dishes. Menu options during the evening are inspired by seasonality and reflect quality and provenance. £25 pp

Craig Treggonning works his flavour magic with a Vegetarian Feast inspired by flavours from the Middle East. £30pp.

 

Cheap Date Dance Company: Dirty Words, AMATA, Penyn, Fri 1 Feb

A music and dance duet with dancer, Grace Clayton (Grace Clayton Dance, Cheap Date) and multi-instrumentalist, Seamas Carey (Kneehigh, Wildworks). A crash landing of self expression, communication, action and reaction through live music, dance, theatre, and digital media. This visual monologue questions the physical, verbal, facial, tonal, nuanced way we talk to the world.

After they were one of the stand out highlights from last year’s Father’s Day Food & Drink Festival, Lusty Glaze welcomes back Jumping Out Jazz boys for a session in the cosy surroundings of their winter restaurant. Storytelling and Dinner with Gary Cordingley, Potager Garden, Constantine, Fri 1 Feb

As part of the 19th National Storytelling Week celebrations, illustrator and storyteller Gary Cordingley is coming to Potager to blend the delicate flavours of the Middle East with a touch of the Mythological Underworld and the sweet taste of West Africa in an evening that combines delicious food and fabulous stories. Daisy, Potager’s Head Chef, has devised a three course vegetarian menu that will reflect the themes of Gary’s stories, including Palestinian cauliflower and cumin fritters and Sumac and lemon roasted winter vegetables. £30pp
