A surefire hit with any petrol head dad – hire a classic Morgan from Perranwell Garage and explore the north coast. Stop off for lunch in a quiet country pub, or for a walk along the coastal path. Within the daily mileage limit (100 miles) you can see a lot of our county. Unsure of where to go? Alan has three different route maps available for a day out.

Great pub near by: The Blue Peter Inn, Polperro. Muddy’s had a proper decent meal there at half term. The ‘last pub before France’, you’ll find it between ancient smugglers cottages on the harbour, just a few yards from the beach. The Blue Peter Inn, Quay Road, Polperro PL13 2QZ
I’m pretty sure Muddy FiL only visits us as Cornwall has over 30 golf courses. I nobbled him for his advice on this one. The top coast is the place to go apparently, from Bude to Lelant. If you’re looking for something a bit different, try Cape Cornwall Golf club – Cornwall’s first and last 18 hole course. Its a challenging course, with a par-3 to a green enclosed by a walled garden – site of an old tin mine.
Great pub near by: Actually the new owners have done wonders with the club and the Cape Bar and Restaurant is gaining a reputation for quality fare. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
