Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival, Penhallow Fri 9 – Sun 11 Sept
Its all going down at the Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival in Penhallow near Truro friday onwards.
Heaps going on, including live music, secret cider walks, a silent disco and not forgetting the delicious onsite feast village. Reef are headlining (Saturday), with Kernow King, Sound of the Sirens, Martin Harley, Belfast Busker and Mad Dog Mcrea on the main stage. Meet the regions rising stars on the BBC Introducing Stage. This is a family friendly festival, jam packed with stuff for the littlies – the farm turns into a giant playground during the festival weekend with tractor rides, pig racing, face painting (never met a kid that doesn’t love pig racing), circus workshops, arts and crafts sessions and bouncy castles. Oh and a touch of luxe courtesy of the eco spa area featuring wood fire hot tubs, a sauna yurt and a ‘Bedouin’ chill out lounge. Yes, that’s where you’ll find me.
Obvs no cider fest is complete without cider, and there’ll be over 100 to chose from. Stay the weekend and camp, or glamp it up in a hobbit hut.

Be the envy of your neighbours this Christmas when you decorate your lawn with your own hand made reindeer family!
On this two day course, Becky Saunders will advising on willow preparation, weaving and sculpture techniques. At the end of the two days you will have a beautiful and individual sculpture to take home. Please remember that your sculptures will need to fit in the car so you can take them home, so best not arrive on a bike or moped, though a tuk tuk should be fine. Why stop at one though? Start now and you’ll have time to complete all eight before the big day.
Wear old clothes or bring an apron as the willow is pre-soaked so it can get a little mucky when weaving. Suitable for any level, new to willow sculpting or those with some experience.
