The Peterville Inn, St Agnes
A modern pub dining experience, great drinks and a warm Cornish atmosphere in this revitalised 200 year old village pub in the North Coast surfing village of St Agnes.
The Peterville Inn has been a public house in St Agnes since the 1800’s when it was a popular haunt for local miners in need of a perfect pint after a hard day’s graft. While the industries in St Agnes have updated somewhat in the intervening years, the desire to sit outside with a nice cold drink after work, even if that work is from home, hasn’t changed. So, it was rather a shame when in the spring of 2020 during lockdown 1.0 that the pub (under a different name) unexpectedly closed.
Step forward new owners, Tom and Lara Trubshaw, who jumped at the chance to take on the venue. Under their care the newly redecorated and refurbished Peterville Inn opened in the summer of 2020.
With twenty years experience in the hospitality industry including kitchens in Newquay and neighbouring Porthtowan, Tom and Lara have created a new pub dining experience where the food is both modern and local. Menus change daily depending on availability from local suppliers, and as you’d expect in making the most of a coastal village location, features lots of fish and seafood.
With a welcoming bar, a cosy restaurant as well as outdoor seating with pyramid heaters, this is definitely a place to seek out for a Sunday roast or quiet drink, or even a pitstop on a walk round the gorgeous Wheal Coates and St Agnes (route here).
