Budock Vean Hotel is a gorgeous historic riverside Cornish manor hotel set in 65 acres of gorgeous Cornish gardens and countryside on the banks of the River Helford near Falmouth. In May 1936, writer Virginia Woolf stayed at the hotel, enjoying the unspoilt bays around the Helford River, which are still accessible from the hotel’s private cove, from which guests can also enjoy kayaking & paddle-boarding. Frenchman’s Creek, inspiration to Daphne Maurier for her novel of the same name, is just nearby and the hotel runs daily boat trips.
