Cornwall Gold, Redruth

Explore Cornwall’s mining past and learn all about the history of tin at Cornwall Gold, a hidden gem with plenty of free children’s activities.

Are you looking for the perfect indoor activity to take the kids, a place to inspire, teach and entertain? Then look no further. Located in the heart of Cornwall’s traditional mining district, close to Redruth, St Agnes and St Ives, the free to enter Cornwall Gold ticks all the boxes.

Learn about Cornwall’s tin mining past in their new interactive Tolgus Mill exhibition before you try your luck panning for gold. Little ones will enjoy the dress-up section to become a Tin Miller or a Bal Maiden, and be fascinated as the Tolgus Tin Streaming Mill smashes rock into tiny pieces before their eyes, removing the tin ore from the stone before employing a host of inventions to separate the valuable tin so it can be made into beautiful jewellery.

After refreshing in the café, explore the jewellery showroom where you can shop for unique souvenirs or choose from optional paid for activities such as build your own bear at Bearworks, the special ‘Pick a Pearl’ experience, (and have it set to wear) plus the Create and Paint pottery where you can produce your own masterpiece.

Dog friendly, free parking, open daily and free entry.
