The appropriately named Harbour House is the new venture of seasoned restauranteurs and hoteliers Tamara Costin and William Speed.  Just a short drive from Falmouth, the water-front pub offers a warm welcome and foodie delights in the handsome village of Flushing, where under Tamara and William’s revamp, new warmth and decor has been brought to the former historic Seven Stars Inn.

Harbour House serves local and seasonal food alongside an excellent drink list.  The pub pours the very best of local beers from Penryn’s Verdant Brewer as well as from Treen Brewery, Padstow Brewing Company and Lacuna. Cornish-made gins and spirits are supplied from Loveday, Pocket Full of Stones and other local producers. David Berwick from St Ives Cider provides his award-winning ciders as do other artisan cider makers from the Westcountry, such as Find and Foster, Wildling and local Cornish vineyard Trevibban Mill. The Harbour House wine list has been carefully curated using minimal intervention, bio dynamic and organic wines with Ben Mudditt from Wanderlust Wines.

Cosy and inviting in Autumn, windows and doors thrown open to the sea-front vista in summer, the pub is open all day – pop in for a drink, or a meal. Breakfast, named by National Geographic Traveller as one of its 13 best breakfasts in the UK, is on the menu from 9am, followed by lunch and dinner, as well as bar snacks.

Harbour House has an available-every-day three course £25 set menu to showcase the most ‘bang-up-to-the-minute’ seasonal produce and ingredients. Each 24 hours, the innovative and passionate kitchen team will consider that day’s showcase ingredients, making ‘heroes’ of a number of those and preparing them simply, but stunningly, to provide a set menu that is the freshest around.

Every Sunday, Harbour House serves its acclaimed Sunday Roast until 5 pm, then there is a mix of music.  Local favourites including The Lemonaires, The Old Gaffers, Tom Dale and the True Foxes are in the upcoming schedule and once a month, a popular pub quiz challenges brains!

Harbour House has also announced its Christmas and New Year’s offerings – available every day from 27th November until 23rd December for both lunch and dinner, Harbour House’s five course Christmas menu is a festive feast.

Work up your appetite with a coastal walk, then tuck in by the fire over the winter; get the ferry back over to Falmouth afterwards and leave the car at home. Look out from Easter 2024 for the rooms opening upstairs.
