Marners Rock, Fowey

Marners Rock makes an ideal base for those looking for a comfortable, stylish home from which to enjoy the charms of Fowey and explore South Cornwall, overlooking the River Fowey’s tidal estuary, with breath-taking views across the water.

Marners Rock are three beautiful self-catering apartments in the harbour town of Fowey, a town steeped in history in an area of outstanding natural beauty on Cornwall’s south coast. Family owned and run and provide the highest level of luxury accommodation to be found in the town, with stylish interiors, beds that were handcrafted by a local carpenter and a compelling collection of artwork and antiques throughout the apartments. They were created to be a home from home for guests, with four legged friends also very welcome.

Choose from one of three properties, all unique in character but all with the same luxurious and welcoming atmosphere, all ideal for stays all year round.

Marners Rock No1 sleeps 2 – for a cosy and romantic getaway. With views across the roof tops of Fowey to Place, St Fimbarrus Church and down to the river, the open plan living area is light and bright, with deep filled sofa for relaxing, and a bespoke dining table in the bay window – ideal for enjoying with your morning coffee and watching the world drift by.

No 1 benefits from being step free indoors, so is ideal for guests with limited mobility. There is also a connecting door to apartment No 2 upstairs for those wishing to merge the apartments into one self-contained house, and as one they can accommodate 8 guests.

Marner Rock No2 sleeps 6 – spacious and airy, with three bedrooms on the first and second floor of the Victorian end of terrace. The views from this wonderful home are quite unique and offer a rare chance to take in the rooftops of Fowey, the river and beyond to Polruan. Outdoors there is bench seating as well as an outdoor shower for washing the sand off after a day at the beach, with ample space for coats, boots, wetsuits and more!

Marners Rock No 3 sleeps 6 – uber stylish and located at the end of Esplanade about half a mile from the centre of Fowey overlooking the mouth of the estuary, just a short meander to Readymoney Beach, where Daphne du Maurier lived in Readymoney House during WWII and which inspired many of her best known works. The main room of this lovely apartment is the large open plan kitchen and living room from which you can enjoy from every angle of the beautiful views out over the river and out to sea. In summer guests relax on the private terrace and in winter keep cosily warm inside to watch the weather rolling in, and seafarers come and go. Underfloor heating keeps the chill off in winter, with a gas fire and a huge L shaped sofa for hunkering down as the nights draw in.
