Pier House, Charlestown, Cornwall

Sitting proudly on Charlestown’s harbour front, Pier House is charming, listed building brimming with unique and quirky features and recently re-opened after an extensive refurbishment.

The Pier House pub with rooms sits on Charlestown’s historic Georgian harbour on Cornwall’s south coast. Recently re-opened after a transformational refurbishment, the Pier House is the perfect bolthole to enjoy all that Charlestown has to offer. The sea-facing bar, complete with sun trap outdoor seating area, makes it the best place to relax and soak up the views. Enjoy a drink and a bite to eat from the menu, which champions fresh local produce. Watch the waves roll in from the comfort of your bed when you stay the night in one of the pub’s stylish, newly refurbished bedrooms.

The Pier House is dog and family-friendly – some of the 23 rooms can accommodate cots and fold-down beds, and/or dogs, and many have sea views.

Charlestown, famous for its Tall Ships that have appeared in films and hit TV series, including BBC’s Poldark, was once a thriving working port, constructed to export copper and china clay. It’s principal industry is now as a film set and to welcome visitors who want to follow in the footsteps of sailors from the past. Beautifully preserved, the pretty pastel fishermen’s cottages line the harbour, with a range of local bars, eateries and independent shops to explore, as well as the charming Shipwreck Museum.
