From deep in the heart of Cornwall in Par, The Cornish Bed Company forges beds that will last for generations and was awarded the Manufacturing Guild mark in 2022.

Using hand casting techniques, The Cornish Bed Company is proud of their reputation for making beautifully finished beds designed and built to last forever. Every bed has their unique cast knuckle joint to attach the side rails to the head and foot of the bed.

The original iron and brass Victorian bedsteads were influenced by the Art Nouveau movement celebrating nature in their aesthetic. Flowing lines and curves were created in the headboards and footers with the metal chosen for both sterile and durable reasons. That manufacturing process from the 19th century is still the same hand pouring and intricate polishing methods that The Cornish Bed Company employs today.

The Tetbury Cast Iron Bed and The Somerset Four Poster Bed were awarded The Design Guild Mark in 2022, with the full range including beds in standard and bespoke sizes, together with daybeds, four posters and headboards.

Each bed is hand poured using traditional gravity casting and then individually numbered making it bespoke and personal for each customer. Iron beds are robustly powder coated in a choice of many colours, and brass beds are skilfully antiqued and then lacquered by hand with a matt lacquer to ensure the finish lasts the test of time.
