The Plume of Feathers, Mitchell, Nr Newquay
Rural charm meets modern chic at this 16th century dining pub with rooms, nestled in the Cornish countryside near to Newquay and Truro.
Inside the cosy pub at The Plume of Feathers you’ll find the dining room serving classic British pub food with a modern touch, showcasing seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, under the care of head chef Andrew Dudley. Eat in the more modern light filled conservatory, or, for more traditional pub charm, you’ll find exposed beams, a roaring fire, and a bar serving Cornish ales and beers.
Across the courtyard, you’ll find 20 designer bedrooms, some of which are dog friendly, and some of which sleep up to four in a family suite. Or, a luxury double, perfect for when you want to roll straight to bed after dinner. Egyptian cotton sheets are standard, and the larger rooms have free standing baths. All are more luxurious and contemporary than you might expect from a country pub, with every mod-con, from smart TVs to Bluetooth speakers.
Handily located in the centre of Cornwall, close to both Newquay and Truro, the Plume of Feathers is just off the A30, making it an excellent base from which to explore all that Cornwall has to offer, as well as a great place to stop off on your journey, or, as a handy central meeting point for meals out.
Top tip – The Plume of Feathers is a destination charge point for Tesla and other electric cars, so you can charge your vehicle while you relax over dinner or overnight.
