Chef Dan Cox – 3 nights at The Carew Arms, Antony, Thurs 15 – Sat 17 Mar

Super-chef Dan Cox is coming to do a three evening residency at The Carew Arms this week. Dan was Creative Director at Britain’s best restaurant, Simon Rogan’s L’Enclume in Cumbria and more recently Executive Chef at the Michelin-starred Fera at Clargidges in London. He is now setting up a new farm and kitchen in Crocadon mear St Mellion (eeep!) Dan will be serving a set menu for £45 to showcase the best of his own produce and that of Cornwall.

 

Roo’s Beach Fashion Feast, Bedruthan Hotel, Newquay, Fri 16 Mar

Bedruthan Hotel hosts its third Fashion Feast in partnership with Porth boutique, Roo’s Beach. Enjoy a three-course Malaysian sharing feast, cocktails, live music and a presentation of the Roo’s Beach Spring Summer 2018 collection. There will also be special guests from the worlds of fashion and beauty.

 

Beer & Mussel Festival, The Cornish Arms, St Merryn, Fri 16 – Sun 18 Mar

The Cornish Arms’ Beer & Mussel Festival, in St Merryn returns with 40 different beers and ciders and an even bigger line-up of live entertainment, including music and food demos. Plus they’ll be screening the finale of the Six Nations rugby, so you don’t have to miss the big game.

 

Uncorked: Mad March Madeira with Bovey Wines, Fifteen Cornwall, Fri 16 Mar 
Bovey Wines was formed in 1984 with the specific purpose of importing the Madeira Wines of Pereira D’Oliveira. This tasting is a once in a lifetime opportunity to taste Madeira’s dating back to the 1900’s. Fifteen will also be serving small plates of antipasti from the kitchen to accompany the wines. £45pp

 

Lucy O’Day & Simon Latarche, Lusty Glaze, Fri 16 Mar

Contemporary singer songwriter Lucy O’Day performing with internationally acclaimed pianist, Simon Latarche. Wistful and powerful, uplifting and haunting, this new collaboration is a celebration of the emotive power of jazz. You’ll be lulled by Lucy’s soulful vocal and carried away on every note of Simon’s carefully crafted score. Together Lucy and Simon conjure a timeless, atmospheric sound inspired by such female jazz greats as Nina Simone, infused with Spankie Wilson-esque soul and notes of Norah Jones.

 

Scratchworks Theatre: The Great Train Robbery, AMATA, Falmouth, Fri 16 Mar

Join the four forgotten females as they leave behind their kitchen-sink lives and embark on a madcap adventure of mischief and mayhem. Using a raucous combination of physical theatre, live music and clowning, Scratchworks will unfold the untold tale of this unlikely female four.

 

Punk Thai at Harry’s Cali-Style, Hayle, Fri 16 Mar 

Punk Thai teaming with Californian-style restaurant, Harry’s Cali-Style in Hayle for a special evening (with two sittings). The classic Thai spread sounds amazing – from fragrant soups to curries, Pad Thais to sticky, coconutty puds. Takeaway will also be available. £28pp

 

Game Over, Canteen, St Agnes, Fri 16 Mar

Marc Dennis of Duchy Game joins the Canteen team to celebrate the end of game season. Dine on a four-course menu and enjoy themed talks and tastings. An evening to support this special Cornish business – all proceeds will go towards a new charcuterie HQ.

 

Daffodil Weekend, Cotehele, Saltash, Sat 17 – Sun 18 Mar

See the wonderful collection of daffodils grown on Cotehele Estate. Local garden enthusiasts will make and display fresh daffodil sculptures, there will be a display of historic and new varieties of daffodils, plus a guided tour of the daffodils in the garden.

A dazzling array of daffodils are showcased from some of Cornwall’s finest breeders and growers in Trelissick’s annual Daffodil Show.

Silent Disco Yoga, Eden Project, Bodelva, Sun 18 Mar

An unforgettable Silent Disco Yoga experience among in the lush undergrowth of the Mediterranean Biome. Imagine a dynamic yoga class in this memorable location, with inquisitive birds hopping around and the smell of plants filling the air. The all levels vinyasa flow class with be accentuated by wearing custom headphones and immersing yourself into a musical journey as you practice. The class is taught using a microphone that you will also hear via the headphones and postures are choreographed to the playlist. £18pp
