<p>Head to Truro Cathedral for a lunchtime concert on Weds 18 Dec at 1pm &#8211; hear <a href="https://www.trurocathedral.org.uk/whats-on/kernow-voices-lunchtime-christmas-concert-wed-18-dec-2024-01-00-pm">Kernow Voices</a> choir perform carols from across the centuries, making a suitably accessible reflective break from the last week at work, or your festive shopping! </p>



<p>Perhaps less reflective but still peaceful and a nice way to mark the solstice and start getting festive, on Saturday 21 Dec, try the <a href="https://cornwall365.com/events/sterts-singers-candlelit-christmas-concert/">Sterts Singers &#8211; Candlelit Christmas Concert</a> or <a href="https://www.wadebridgechoral.org.uk/concerts-events/">Wadebridge Choral Society</a>&#8216;s Christmas Concert, both of which will have traditional carols. </p>

<p><a href="https://montolfestival.co.uk/">Montol</a> is Cornwall’s traditional festival of midwinter in Penzance. Dancers in full disguise, called Guisers, parade the streets, accompanied by music from peccadillos, drumming and burning torches &#8211; the celebrations are a revived mix of traditions from across Cornish history and fancy dress is encouraged. Events get going around 12pm with family-friendly stalls and carols to join in with; as darkness falls and the longest night of the year emerges from the twilight, it&#8217;s more adults only.</p>

Watch the sun rise and connect with nature with a cold water dip in the main sea pool and warn up with a delicious wood fired sauna after. Add a sauna option to add this to your dip in the main pool. Embrace the changing seasons together by celebrating winter solstice looking forward to longer and brighter days ahead! 8am onwards.</p>

<p>Walk off all your stresses with a wander through the temperate Atlantic rainforest at <a href="https://www.st-nectansglen.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">St Nectans Glen</a> near Tintagel. With ivy clad trees and ferns, along the banks of the river Trevillet on its journey to the sea at Rocky Valley, and finally reach the waterfall where the sound will cleanse and inspire the mind and stir the soul. Daily, 10am-4pm.</p>

<p>Cornwall has one of the most intensive prehistoric landscapes in Britain littered with ancient stones &#8211; from Bodmin Moor to West Penwith, there are stone circles, piles of stones, underground chambers and burial sites, all of which make a fascinating walk and place to spend a few minutes in quiet contemplation.  </p>

Discover breath-taking displays of fauna and flora as we celebrate the characters of the community, all illuminated within Heligan’s much-loved and iconic locations. &nbsp;The Lantern Company’s illuminated installations at Heligan holds up a nocturnal magnifying glass to the often-overlooked wonders and beauty of nature on our doorstep. From badgers to fungi, bees to butterflies, and a joyful family of cheeky Tamworth pigs, this illuminated seasonal trail creates a treasure-filled space for families and friends to discover these beautiful indigenous species.</p>
