CHARITY EVENT: <a href="https://www.edenproject.com/eden-story/our-ethos/eden-sleep-out" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Virtual Eden Sleep Out (opens in a new tab)">Virtual Eden Sleep Out</a> (19 Nov)



For the last six years the Eden Project has hosted an annual Sleep Out outside the Biomes and the events have raised thousands of pounds for two charities, St Petrocs and the Amber Foundation.



Government guidance due to the pandemic means that the mass Sleep Out cannot take place at Eden this year.  Instead, people are being invited to join in remotely on the night, sleeping outside in your garden if you have one, otherwise on the floor at home. <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="All the details here (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.edenproject.com/eden-story/our-ethos/eden-sleep-out" target="_blank">All the details here</a>, £25 requested donation.

‘Winter at&nbsp;the Byre’ will open online on Saturday 14th November and will continue even if the physical doors to the gallery are able to open once again in December. There is some really stunning new work featured: paintings from three regulars, Sophie Harding, Jill Hudson and David Muddyman, and some beautiful pieces from an artist new to the Byre,&nbsp;wonderful&nbsp;woodblock printmaker Adrian Holmes.

In 1998, the last operating tin mine in Cornwall, South Crofty and the Wheal Jane processing mill, were closed.&nbsp; For Cornwall, this marked the end of an era.



This on-line exhibition explores those last days of tin mining in Cornwall, in the words of some of the miners of South Crofty and Wheal Jane.
