<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Sun 7 Sept</strong><br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;£45<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> Part of the Cornish Tri Series, and is a fun day out for the whole family, after a 5 year break, Perranporth Surf Triathlon is back for it’s 33rd edition! In collaboration with Perranporth Surf Lifesaving Club, one of the UK’s most challenging yet rewarding events is back on the UK Triathlon scene! With a history dating back to 1987, this iconic Cornish event is back. Choose from a super sprint, or an Olympic tri, with junior events in the afternoon.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-falmouth-tri-nbsp-the-seal-cornish-tri-series"><a href="https://intotri.com/cornish-tri/">Falmouth Tri</a>&nbsp;‘The Seal’ – Cornish Tri Series</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Sun 21 Sept</strong><br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;£45<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> Part of the Cornish Tri Series, and is a fun day out for the whole family &#8211; Enjoy the calm waters of Cornwall&#8217;s swimming hotspot, the blue flag rated Gyllyngvase Beach &#8211; perfect for beginners and those looking for a fast course! Once out of the water, hop on your bike and soak up the electric atmosphere with spectators lining the closed road section along Cliff Rd. Watch out for seals off-shore on the stunning coastal bike and run routes around Pendennis Point! Super sprint and sprint tri, with junior events in the afternoon.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-running-nbsp">RUNNING &nbsp;</h2>

<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;Various<br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;Free<br><strong>What to expect:</strong>&nbsp;5k timed runs at 8 Cornish and then 2,000+ locations globally – and not a price tag in sight. Open to all ages and abilities, including junior runs for mini-me athletes. Just register, get your barcode, and off you go.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-trust-10k"><a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/cornwall/pentire/events/3222cae4-b003-4ad0-9b1b-40e610b5ab02">Trust 10k</a></h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;Every fourth Sunday<br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;Free<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> The National Trust at Pentire hosts a free 10k&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/cornwall/pentire/events/3222cae4-b003-4ad0-9b1b-40e610b5ab02">waymarked trail run</a>&nbsp;that includes 1.5 laps of a circular route mostly along the gorgeous coastline, so there is also an option to do a slightly shorter 6.35km route. The next one is 24 August, meet 8.45am.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-cornish-skyline"><strong><a href="http://freedom-racing.co.uk/cornish-skyline" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Cornish Skyline</a></strong></h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;Whenever you choose!<br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;Free<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> A 17 mile Fell / Moor land route taking in the highest points of Bodmin Moor, the highest overall area of Cornwall. An individual challenge for you to have a go at, a great day out on the moor or a speed challenge for those wishing to put up fast times on the route and see who is fastest!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-saints-way-ricochet"><strong><a href="https://www.purplegeckoevents.co.uk/saints-way" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Saints Way Ricochet</a></strong></h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Sat 6 Sept</strong><br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;£95 plus booking fee<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> <strong>57 miles</strong> &#8211; Follow this ancient pathway from coast to coast in this 57 Mile Ultramarathon, straight across Cornwall. The ancient waymarked trail has been associated with early saints and missionaries and early Celtic traders seeking to trade with the Egyptians and Greeks or flee the yellow plague in Wales in the sixth century. Supported,&nbsp;<strong>self-navigation exercise</strong>&nbsp;with three manned checkpoints with fluid and sustenance along the route.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-saints-and-smugglers-100-miler-all-in"><strong><a href="https://www.purplegeckoevents.co.uk/saints---smugglers-100-mile-all-in">Saints and Smugglers 100 miler all in</a></strong></h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Sat 27 Sept</strong><br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;£215 plus booking fee<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> Starting and finishing at the Hannafore Hotel in Looe, you will have 39 hours to complete the route which links all four individual stages of the challenge to form one epic anti-clockwise 100 Mile loop.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-cornwall-s-backyard-ultra"><a href="https://www.grit-culture.com/cornwalls-backyard-ultra" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cornwall&#8217;s Backyard Ultra</a></h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Sat 4 Oct</strong><br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;£75 / £85 from 1 Sept<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> Every hour a new 4.167 mile lap starts, from St Eval to Bedruthan and back. Run it once and it&#8217;s a race; six times for a marathon etc. The laps keep starting until there is no one left! Billed as an inclusive ultra, as everyone but 1 ends up as a DNF, but gets to run their own race too.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-eden-marathon-and-half-marathon"><strong><a href="https://www.edenproject.com/visit/whats-on/eden-marathon-and-half-marathon" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Eden Marathon and Half Marathon</a></strong></h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Sun 19 Oct</strong><br><strong>Cost:</strong> Marathon: from £41 / Half marathon: from £35<br><strong>What to expect:</strong>Cornwall’s biggest running event, with a multi-terrain route through spectacular countryside, ending at the biomes.</p>

<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Sat 13 Sept</strong><br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;From £39<br><strong>What to expect:</strong>The Land’s End 100 Sportive has been successfully running from Folly Field, right beside the iconic St Michael’s Mount at Marazion, Penzance since 2010. There is a choice of three cycle routes: the Long route (105 miles), the Medium Route (72 miles) or the Short route (46 miles), each taking in some of the most picturesque landscapes across the Cornish Peninsula.&nbsp;</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-santa-cycle">Santa Cycle</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;TBC<br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;Free<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> A fun family day out cycling the Camel Trail from Wadebridge to Padstow dressed as santa &#8211; this year&#8217;s event TBC but keep an eye on Facebook.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-fancy-something-a-bit-different">FANCY SOMETHING A BIT DIFFERENT?</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-big-ballsy-challenge-nbsp-nbsp"><a href="https://www.nice-work.org.uk/e/the-big-ballsy-challenge-10298" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Big Ballsy Challenge</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong>&nbsp;All of November<br><strong>Cost:</strong>&nbsp;£20<br><strong>What to expect:</strong>&nbsp;This virtual challenge is all about moving for a good cause. Choose to run or walk 10k, 50k or 100k across the month, in support of The Robin Cancer Trust. You’ll get a medal, a warm fuzzy feeling, and an excellent excuse for a giant slice of cake.</p>
