<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-beds-in-holiday-homes"><strong>Beds in holiday homes</strong></h2>



<p>It’s critical to have really comfortable and sturdy beds in a holiday home as if your guests have a good night sleep they will return! You will want a high quality mattress. Always opt for a pocket sprung rather than coil sprung and make sure it has reinforced sides. For the bed bases opt for an ottoman storage base where possible. These are really helpful for storing spare bedding and linen.</p>

<p>Booking combinations rely on the ability to have a twin bed or superking bed. The more beds that can be zip and link, the more versatile your home will be therefore generating more bookings. Remember your headboards need to accommodate the change.&nbsp;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-blinds-and-curtains"><strong>Blinds and curtains</strong></h2>



<p>I see this mistake often &#8211; if your guest doesn’t get a good night sleep they probably won’t return. Always opt for blackout lined options. Where windows are overlooked by neighbours or roads, add voile blinds or curtains so that your guests have privacy. Voiles are also great for rooms where the view isn’t favourable. </p>

<p>Cushions , rugs and art need to be scaled right. Too small looks lack lustre and lost. Too large may make the space feel claustrophobic. The sizes of the pieces can make or break a scheme. I always opt for 50x50cm cushions on the beds and 40x40cm on sofas as minimums. </p>

<p>Considering outdoor baths, outdoor kitchens, barrel saunas, fire pit area or even a hot tub which is great for winter bookings. You can offset your water consumption by adding water saving measures elsewhere.&nbsp;</p>

<p>My professional approach to holiday homes is to give it a brand identity. Make it a memorable home so that your guests will always look back on what an incredible time they had. When I work on projects they all look different to suit the client, location and the function of the home.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Remember not to over accessorise all the empty surfaces and spaces in your home. Guests need space to put their belongings when they stay and the accessories can be a nuisance at times. Add those complimentary touches but edit down where needed. </p>

<p>Are there enough utensils, is there extra crockery and cutlery if they didn’t wash up from breakfast that day? Skimping out on the inventory can cause frustration for guests. You want them to go through the kitchen and be wowed by everything that is on offer and that you have thought about how they may spend their holiday. Cake tins for a baking a cake for somebody’s birthday or a hand blender for the home made baby purées. Having a bed guard and high chair stored away is super helpful for parents too. A dog bed and bowls of you plan to welcome dogs is great too and maybe adding an outdoor doggy shower.&nbsp;</p>

<p>They often get forgotten about but all your guests will arrive with luggage.</p>

<p>I often see listings that have five bedrooms but sleep 16 people and the living spaces can’t handle it and there aren&#8217;t enough seats at the dining table, for example. It’s not all about bums on beds, a good experience means guests will return. </p>
