<p>Winner of many previous Muddy Awards for Cornwall&#8217;s Best Bookshop, The Edge of the World has an entire children&#8217;s section to choose from. And, for adults, a well curated selection of all sorts of books, including of course, from our favourite Cornish authors. </p>

<p>Clemo started as pop-up, creating book-ish communities across Newquay and facilitating a fascinating book group which meets monthly &#8211; and now it&#8217;s a bricks and mortar shop too. Clemo sells adults and children&#8217;s books and hosts all manner of events relating to reading to highlight the importance of bookshops on the high street and promotes the importance of reading for pleasure.</p>

<p>Named as one of comedians Joanna Neary and Anna Keirle <a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/life/people/my-fave-places-joanna-neary-and-anna-keirle-comedians/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">favourite places</a>, this fab little shop in Helston is worth seeking out &#8211; and holds the accolade of being the southernmost bookshop in mainland Britain. &#8220;Their curated bookshelves of new books for all ages and hobbies and small selection of gifts are exquisite. Friendly and welcoming, they host terrific events. The Bookshop is also going walkabout &#8211; on Wednesday 4 March there will be a popup in the Library <a href="https://www.instagram.com/HelstonCommunityCollege/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@HelstonCommunityCollege</a> in the Library and on Friday 6 March the World Book Day books will be at Landewednack School.</p>

<p>At the top end of Molesworth Street you&#8217;ll find this quirky independent bookshop, a Muddy Award 2023 finalist, as well as voted in the Top 50 UK bookshops in the Independent. You&#8217;ll find an interesting selection of books, plus, out the back, a second-hand book searchers dream room, stuffed full of all sorts of treasures.</p>

<p>For a small bookshop just one road back from the harbour in Padstow, this little shop punches quite a pack in terms of children&#8217;s books, plus, a great selection of local reading.</p>

<p>Shrew Books celebrates Cornish authors and nature writers as well as a whole host more selected carefully by current owner Kate (who took over in 2020). She has some gorgeous tomes and makes a great window display.</p>

<p>This is the shop for you if you want to buy books direct from a best-selling author. Liz Hurley,&nbsp;from St Austell (no, not the actress) was one of six finalists in the&nbsp;Katie Fforde Debut&nbsp;Romantic Novel Award&nbsp;category at the Romantic Novel Awards 2021, with her novel&nbsp;<em>A New Life for Ariana Byrne, published by Hera Books</em>. Her<a href="https://hurleybooks.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> bookshop</a>, is ten yards from the sea in Mevagissey.</p>

It is a fascinating place to be both during the day and evening, with its quirky furniture and interiors and you will often see people reading&nbsp;at a table for one –&nbsp;with a&nbsp;local brewery beer.</p>

Wall to wall books on a culinary theme grace the shelves, from Cornwall&#8217;s finest right through to the newest releases from the UK and beyond, plus a bijou selection of food related fiction. Plus they make a great cup of coffee to sip whilst you browse the edited collection for in-store reading.</p>
