<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-foodie-news">FOODIE NEWS</h2>



<p>Lots going on in St Ives! The Manor Grill, a new outdoor dining concept set within the grounds of <a href="https://www.treloyhan-manor.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Treloyhan Manor</a> opens this month, as does <a href="https://mazzarestaurant.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mazza</a> down on the harbour front. A coal-fired restaurant, Mazza is a collaboration between local industry giants who will serve regenerative beef, sustainable seafood and seasonal produce, sourced from local producers who care about what they do. Also opening very soon is MOR by Tom Sellers in Carbis Bay, set to bring another exciting new dining destination to the area. Sadly it is goodbye to Bre Café. </p>



<p>It also time at the bar for The Orgia in Falmouth, who closed their doors last week.</p>

<p>Over in Newquay, The NICI opened its doors last week, with the indoor pool and Amalfi’s restaurant now also welcoming locals, offering elegant dishes and classics with an Italian twist. </p>

<p>The outdoor pool and Tucker Rocks beachside restaurant, pictured above, form part of the longer-term development plans and are currently scheduled to open in 2027. Also new to Newquay’s Fore Street is <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thelardernqy/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Larder</a>. You&#8217;ll find this little shop run by Kirsty and Ian at the Fistral end of Fore Street with an ambition to fill everyone&#8217;s larders with good food and local produce. Very handy indeed if you live in Newquay, or are staying in one of the self-catering apartments (like <a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/travel/review-the-lookout-the-atlantic-newquay-cornwall/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Lookout</a>) just up the road.</p>

<p>Chris Whitmore has taken the helm at Scarlet Hotel at Mawgan Porth in Cornwall as the new Head Chef, bringing a passion for growing, sourcing and celebrating seasonal produce. With a background shaped in fine dining, he brings a wealth of experience including working at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze and Jason Atherton’s The Social Group across restaurants in London, Hong Kong, and Qatar.</p>

<p>On The Roseland, more hotel openings have been announced. Launching today,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.elysiumcollection.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The&nbsp;Elysium Collection</a>&nbsp;is&nbsp;a&nbsp;family of&nbsp;new&nbsp;British hotels,&nbsp;spas&nbsp;and health clubs,&nbsp;providing informal luxury wellness staycations in some of the most beautiful locations in the UK. The first,&nbsp;the 56-bedroom&nbsp;Elysium St Mawes, will&nbsp;open this autumn following the transformation of the historic Ship and Castle Hotel, led in collaboration with 3DReid, the studio behind Gleneagles. Inspired by the meeting of sea, sky and stone on the Cornish coast, Elysium St Mawes has been lovingly restored as a place to slow down, switch off, reconnect, and celebrate.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-awards-news">Awards News</h2>



<p>The headline here is obviously that the winners of <a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/muddy-awards/meet-your-muddy-awards-2026-winners/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Muddy Cornwall Awards</a> were announced, with 21 new winners reflecting the brilliance of Cornwall&#8217;s small indie businesses. However, looking outside Cornwall, at the National Restaurant Awards Cornwall had one entry and it was Paul Ainsworth at No6 in at no76.</p>



<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/thestoryofemilycornwall/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Story of Emily</a>&nbsp;in St Ive won a Silver Award for best new tourism attraction in the National&nbsp;Visit England Awards, hot on the heels of winning the internationally recognised global&nbsp;THEA award&nbsp;in Florida last month. Also flying the flag for Cornwall were Bosinver Farm Cottages, taking Gold for Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year, while Watergate Bay Hotel took Silver for Large Hotel of the Year.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-new-co-working-space">New co-working space</h2>



<p>Finally, over in Newlyn, Muddy fave café and wine bar Lovetts has expanded upstairs with <em>Us</em>, a light-filled creative <a href="https://www.lovetts-newlyn.co.uk/workspace" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">workspace</a>. With four spacious desks available by the hour or day and high-speed secure WiFi, it’s a smart new spot for freelancers, creatives or anyone needing a change of scenery.</p>
