<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-foodie-news">FOODIE NEWS</h2>



<p>NEW! Who knew December was so popular for burgers, with not one but two new burger joints in the Duchy. Native Burger have opened in <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DCARDGTCeGr/?img_index=1">Bodmin</a> on Crockwell Street &#8211; in addition to their Launceston branch, and everyone&#8217;s favourite Newquay-based <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DDSZOGPof0x/">HERD</a> open their second branch in Truro on 11 December on Princes Street.</p>



<p>The <a href="https://punchbowlcornwall.co.uk/">Punchbowl &amp; Ladle</a> at Penelewey near Truro has reopened its doors following an internal revamp. The traditional thatched Cornish pub has a rich history dating back to the 15<sup>th</sup>&nbsp;century with the original features including open fire place untouched. Reopening with a fresh new look, and a new team in place, the cosy pub will be back open seven days a week, and is dog friendly.&nbsp;Annabell O’Neill and Oli Anderson took over the reins of The Punchbowl in May, with Annabell fronting operations as general manager whilst Oli is leading the kitchen team as head chef &#8211; they were previously at the Harbour Inn in Porthleven.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.yamaslooe.com/">Yamas</a> in Looe is the latest edition to the Michelin Guide &#8211; the sister restaurant to the Sardine Factory also in Looe, both under the care of chef Ben Palmer, above. It is big congratulations to Ben, who you may also recognise from his success on the Great British Menu.  Yamas becomes the 42nd <a href="https://guide.michelin.com/gb/en/cornwall/restaurants">Michelin recommended restaurant in Cornwall</a> &#8211; after the <a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/latest-news/superflashy-newsflash-latest-restaurant-news-november/">closure of Appleton&#8217;s in Fowey</a> last month.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.buttermarket.org/">The Buttermarket</a> in Redruth is now open after renovation. The historic marketplace has been transformed into a modern food hall, events and shopping hub, featuring a collection of kitchens, retail spaces and a large courtyard. Find street food pop-ups Bango Kitchen, Cowgirls and Little Ears Italian as well as Cath&#8217;s Cornish Kitchen, The Jar, and Earth and Soul offering lunch Tues &#8211; Sat and dinner Thurs &#8211; Sat.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-hotel-news">HOTEL NEWS</h2>



<p>Cornwall had two winners in the recent <a href="https://www.top50boutiquehotels.com/list/1-50">Top 50 Boutique Hotels Awards</a> &#8211; Padstow Townhouse (4) and The Idle Rocks (50).</p>



<p>And speaking of hotels, Philema Hospitality Management has announced their acquisition of the <a href="https://www.budockvean.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Budock Vean Hotel</a> via agent Knight Frank.</p>

<p>Fans of <a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/life/people/raynor-winn-author/">Raynor Winn</a>&#8216;s <em>The Salt Path </em>will be pleased to see the trailer has been released for the upcoming film adaptation of Raynor&#8217;s first book. Also called The Salt Path and starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs as Raynor and husband Moth, the film is slated to be released in Spring 2025. <p>Meanwhile over in St Agnes, archaeologist Ben Robinson has been investigating the village that made our <a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/best-places-to-live/cornwall/st-agnes/">top 300 places to live for 2025</a> on the BBC in <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0025grx/villages-by-the-sea-series-5-4-st-agnes">Villages by the Sea</a>. Only 30 mins, but a fascinating look at the tin mining history that put St Agnes on the map.</p>
