<p>The Minack Theatre is built into the cliffs above Porthcurno, and performances go ahead rain or shine! In this re-telling of the lovely story The Mermaid of Zennor, John Brolly and music by Ben Sutcliffe the classic Cornish legend is re-told with music and songs to appeal to little &#8211; and big &#8211; kids.</p>



<p>Something fishy is going on in the little village of Zennor.&nbsp;A school visit to Zennor church has turned into chaos, as children and teacher are recruited by a mischievous spirit. What follows is bursting with magic, mystery and mayhem as they all work together to recreate the story of Mathey Trewella and his love for a mermaid. Even the Vicar is carried away in the action as we head down to the depths of the Celtic sea and back up again into the Cornish mist.</p>



<p>This is a show fizzing with energy, songs and fun so sit back and relax to watch the delightful cast of young performers. Oh, and just one warning.&nbsp; Beware the call of the mermaid. Mon 7 &#8211; Sun 20 April. <em>Tickets from £10, under 15s half price.</em></p>

<p>Inspired by the dressing up cabinet in the Nature Gallery &#8211; which features beautiful bespoke capes and headdresses by Alice Archer and Animalesque respectively &#8211; this free activity will have visitors of all ages reaching for the feathers, crepe paper, and crafting glue. It&#8217;s a playful way to engage younger museum goers with conservation success stories and the value of Cornwall&#8217;s unique natural environment.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings of the new-look gallery created in collaboration with Cornwall Wildlife Trust, as birds wheel overhead and the sights and sounds of Cornish nature surround you. Create your own mask to take home &#8211; all materials are provided and there&#8217;s no need to reserve a time slot. <p>Join The Seaweed Institute at Trebah Gardens to learn the craft of seaweed pressing – a Victorian practice that captures the underwater beauty of seaweeds. During the workshop you will learn to recognise and identify local seaweed species. The cultural history of seaweeds will be discussed, as well as its agricultural, scientific and ecological uses. You will learn how to forage, store and use this abundant resource. The workshop price includes a walk to the forshore to collect and identify local seaweeds for the artwork, and the artwork itself, which will be available to be collected from Cast in Helston when it is dry. 12 April, 1-4pm. <em>From £27 (members) / £30 (non-members)</em></p>
