<p>UPDATE! Not one but five new entries for Cornwall in December&#8217;s Michelin Guide. In addition to St. Eia in the <a href="https://guide.michelin.com/gb/en/cornwall/st-ives/restaurant/st-eia" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Michelin Guide</a>, there are now 43 entries for Cornwall. </p>



<p>We are big fans of Mark and Eleanor&#8217;s dreamy bar just down the street from the Tate St Ives, and always enjoy seeing what wines they have open by the bottle. </p>



<p>Also added are <a href="https://guide.michelin.com/gb/en/cornwall/nanstallon_7770440/restaurant/fern" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fern</a> (Nanstallon, Bodmin), <a href="https://guide.michelin.com/gb/en/cornwall/newquay/restaurant/counter-culture" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Counter Culture</a> (Newquay), <a href="https://guide.michelin.com/gb/en/cornwall/fowey/restaurant/narla" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Narla</a> (Fowey, above) and finally <a href="https://guide.michelin.com/gb/en/cornwall/trelowarren/restaurant/flora-1210785" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Flora</a> (Trelowarren nr Helston).</p>



<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/ortopenzance/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Orto in Penzance</a>, from the chef that brought pasta at Little Ears to Newquay, opens on Chapel Street on Thurs 11 Dec.</p>



<p>In other foodie news, <a href="https://idlerocks.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Idle Rocks</a> in St Mawes have announced the return of&nbsp;acclaimed Guy Owen&nbsp;as&nbsp;Chef of the Reef Knot Restaurant, marking a bold new chapter for one of Cornwall’s most celebrated coastal dining spots.</p>



<p>With&nbsp;decades of experience&nbsp;across some of the&nbsp;UK’s leading kitchens, Guy was previously instrumental in helping The Idle Rocks secure accolades including Seafood Restaurant of the Year. Now, he returns with a revitalised,&nbsp;sustainability-led sea-to-table vision&nbsp;rooted in trusted&nbsp;local suppliers&nbsp;and seafood landed just metres from the kitchen door.</p>



<p>In Port Isaac, Outlaws New Road (8) and Outlaws Fish Kitchen (87) have both been listed in <a href="https://www.hardens.com/top-100-uk-restaurants/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hardens Top 100 Restaurants for 2026</a>. They are joined by Padstow powerhouse, No6 By Paul Ainsworth, at 14. Sad news from Port Isaac though, Nathan Outlaw has announced that he will be closing Outlaws New Road in the spring of 2026 to focus on the Fish Kitchen and the new 10 cover restaurant within his Port Isaac based Guest House, which opens at the start of April.</p>

<p><a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/travel/uk/self-catering/review-kernock-cottages-cornwall/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kernock Cottages</a> were winners of the Dog-Friendly Business of the year in the recent Cornwall Tourism Awards, and runners-up in the Regenerative Tourism Business of the year. <a href="https://watergatebay.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Watergate Bay Hotel</a> won gold in Large Hotel of the year, as well as a special &#8216;winner of winner&#8217;s award. <a href="https://www.trebahgarden.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Trebah Garden</a>, Mawnan Smith, won gold in Large Visitor Attraction of the year. <a href="https://www.cornwallmuseum.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery</a>, Truro, won gold in Small Visitor Attraction of the year. <a href="https://jubileepool.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Geothermal Experience – Jubilee Pool</a>, Penzance, won gold for Spa &amp; Wellbeing Experience of the year. <p><a href="https://www.headlandhotel.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Headland Hotel and Spa</a> in Newquay won&nbsp;Sustainable Hotel of the Year at the Hotel Cateys. The awards ceremony is widely regarded as the “Oscars of hospitality” and one of the highest honours in the UK hotel industry. The accolade recognises The Headland’s comprehensive and purpose-driven approach to sustainability, from community engagement and local sourcing to waste reduction and environmental stewardship.</p>



<p><a href="https://www.narehotel.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Nare</a>&nbsp;has won a Good Hotel Guide 2026 César Award for Best Seaside Hotel – a fantastic accolade celebrating what The Nare does best.</p>

<p><a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/arts-culture-things-to-do/review-the-story-of-emily-st-ive-liskeard-cornwall/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Story of Emily</a>,&nbsp;St Ive, near Liskeard, was the only organisation or business in the UK to be awarded an accolade in this year’s 32nd&nbsp;Annual Thea Awards,&nbsp;announced by the Themed Entertainment Association, winning a prestigious global award for ‘<em>Outstanding Achievement’&nbsp;</em>in the museum sector.</p>
