Falmouth brewery Verdant has added a new pub to their list of establishments. <a href="https://verdantbrewing.co/pages/the-seaview-inn-falmouth">The Seaview Inn</a>&nbsp;on Wodehouse Terrace, Falmouth, is now a Verdant pub featuring a selection of Verdant beers with 10 taps and 4 cask lines, along with a curated selection of other drinks, and classic Indian dishes from Situ in Penryn.



Over in Trebetherick, near Polzeath, Wavi coffee has a new pop-up shop at Highcliffe.



<a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/life/people/dan-cox-crocadon-st-mellion/">Crocadon Farm</a> at St Mellion has been shortlisted for the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards sustainable restaurant award, ahead of the ceremony on 9 June. Watch this space!

St Ives based <a href="https://atlanticcoastalsupplies.com/">Atlantic Coastal Supplies</a> have an <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DKJoqTjIolr/">exciting collab</a> with <a href="https://www.jcrew.com/uk/p/mens/categories/accessories/bags/messengers-and-totes/atlantic-coastal-supplies-large-beach-bag/CF796?color_name=cobalt&amp;colorProductCode=CF796&amp;fit=Classic&amp;display=all">J.Crew</a> launching at the end of the month. Newquay based <a href="https://www.sandandpalm.com/">Sand + Palm</a> sell Cornish designed swimwear from their workshop at 5 Wesley Yard. We hear that they are coming to Mawgan Porth soon too.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-other-news">OTHER NEWS</h2>



After fierce storms tore through Newquay last winter and damaged the newly installed padel courts at SeaSpace aparthotel, UK PADEL – the leading force in the development and promotion of the sport via clubs and competitions – has announced a return to Cornwall. Launched on 23rd May, the five courts feature three for doubles play and two for singles – the first ever singles courts in the Southwest. The refreshed courts mark a significant step in the continued growth of the sport in the region and the biggest padel club in Cornwall.  



A new and exciting arts partnership, <a href="https://www.southeastcornwallarts.co.uk/">South East Cornwall Arts</a> has been launched. The partnership, which is currently made up of The Piggery at Hole, near Liskeard, St. German&#8217;s Priory at Saltash, and Jopes Music ensemble, seeks to create a unified cultural hub for South East Cornwall. Look out for their concert listings.

The iconic Jubilee Pool, Britain&#8217;s largest and most celebrated Art Deco seawater lido, marks its 90th anniversary with a spectacular splash on Saturday 31st May. The historic swimming venue, which first opened in 1935 to commemorate King George V&#8217;s Silver Jubilee, invites everyone to join in commemorating nine decades of swimming, socialising, and heritage.

Following a successful fund-raising campaign, the next phase in Kerdroya’s construction has been announced. Work will recommence in October and is expected to continue until Spring 2026. Kerdroya, located at Colliford Lake, Bodmin Moor, is the world’s largest known classical labyrinth and officially opened to the public on the Spring Equinox 2025. It has already attracted more than 14,000 visitors, keen to explore its 750m meandering path to the Heart of Kerdroya. Made entirely from Cornish stone hedging, it is a celebration of Cornwall’s rich landscape and a monument to Cornwall’s heritage, designed to last for generations to come.



The&nbsp;architectural team behind the&nbsp;<a href="https://cornwall.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/arts-culture-things-to-do/review-the-story-of-emily-st-ive-liskeard-cornwall/">The Story of Emily</a>,&nbsp;in St Ive, Cornwall, have&nbsp;scooped two top awards for the project at the prestigious&nbsp;Royal Institute of British Architects Awards: the ‘2025 RIBA South West &amp; Wessex Award’ and the ‘2025 RIBA South West &amp; Wessex Building of the Year Award’.&nbsp;

Not sure if you&#8217;ve noticed, but the The Salt Path film is in cinemas from Friday 30 May 2025. Shot on location across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Wales in 2023, the coastline is essentially the third main character.
