<p>Still time to sing up for the annual spooky Halloween themed head torch run, this year at Scorrier House. Fancy dress is not mandatory but is very much encouraged! There may or may not be zombies lurking (there definitely will be) to frighten you into running faster over 5km or 10km. </p>

This is a recommended 18+ event and advise those that are pregnant or suffer any heart conditions do not attend!</p>

Bodmin Moor is an International Dark Sky Landscape and also a vast mysterious wild moorland that is said to be roamed by the Beast of Bodmin Moor, a phantom wild cat. Ghosts are also rumoured to run amok, where even on a clear day footsteps are reported to have been heard at Roughtor. Dare to go further? Dozmary Pool is said to have a dark spirit given the curse of an impossible eternal tasks – hear screams? Those belong to him…</p>

<p>Between two worlds, this unique community event happens each year at Hallowtide. While not strictly speaking for adults only, as families are important to the ancestral element of the event, it is a seasonal festival in the dark, with dynamic performances from Morris dancers, musicians and the all important meeting of the Welsh Mari Lwyds with the Cornish Oss, Penkevyll marking the end of summer and the beginning of winter. <p>The notorious masked ball at Los Flambardos aka Flambards returns for 2024 in what might well be the final hurrah. For the uninitiated, this Cornish rite of passage is a themed masked ball from 6pm till 6am across 12 frenzied zones in a dark, extreme vision of the future where the ballers revel in capitalist excess to the sounds of Drum &amp; Bass, Techno and 1984 cheese. For 2024, the theme is a little bit of everything from the past ten years, a sort of &#8216;final destination&#8217; that embraces dusk till dawn, the lost boys, dystopia &#8211; basically wear what you like!</p>

<p>2021 saw the first Bodmin Halloween Parade, a free costumed walk up to the Beacon to mark the passing of summer into winter. Again, not strictly speaking adults only as it is for everyone including families, but still an event you can absolutely attend as a solo or group of adults. </p>
